Flat-Bed Filter: 80% dewatering efficiency!

Firma Stevens - Hydrobelt flatbed pressure filters are used worldwide to dewater sludge and filter solids from metalworking liquids and coolants, including high temperature liquids. We offer efficient dewatering of industrial waste and fine filtration of metalworking liquids and coolants with up to 80% dewatering efficiency and removal of solids up to 10 micron.

In the dewatering mode, up to 80% of free moisture is removed from industrial waste, fly ash and water slurries generated by nuclear and fossil fuel power plants, refineries and steel mils. In the filtration mode, solids are removed to achieve liquid clarity levels of 5 ppm for manufacturing and automotive applications.

Fully automatic dewatering cycle
In the dewatering mode, slurries are pumped into the upper chamber. Solids build up on the media as a filter cake until a pressure differential or timed signal initiates filter index. The upper chamber raises to permit the media to index and discharge retained solids.

Dry Cake Discharge
Flatbed dewatering systems will remove up to 80% of moisture from slurrie solids such as fly ash.

Faltbed dewatering systems will remove up to 80% of moisture from slurrie solids such as fly ash

Fully automatic filtration
In the filtration mode, solids are retained by the media. Filtered liquid or coolant is collected in the lower chamber from where it flows into the clean tank to provide metal cutting machines with an continuous supply of liquid coolant.

Proven desing for reliable, automatic operation
Flatbed systems have a movable upper chamber and a stationary lower chamber, separeted by a stainless steel seeptu which supports the filter media. The upper chamber is held down by air bags which are inflated with compressed air to exert a solid. The lower chamber collects liquid for disposal or reuse. To ensure reliable operation, flatbed systems incorporate a leak-free elastomer seal between the upper and lower chambers. Moving components are isolated from the influent during indexing to minimze abrasive and corrosive wera. The filter media index/drive is custom designed to discharge the weight of the dewatering sludge.

Centralized or stand-alone systems using permanent or disposable filter media

Flexible sizes for installations and application
Firma Stevens - Hydrobelt manufactures tailor made sizes of flatbed pressure dewatering and filtration units.
Larger units will filter up to 30.000 l/min. of liquid or dewater 100 tons of wet slurry per day.
Flatbed systems can operate independently or as part of a centralized system incorporating drags tanks, chip conveyers and other peripheral equipment.
Flatbed filters can be constructed of corrosion resistant material such as stainless steel or lined and treated with corrosion resistant material.

Permanent or low-cost disposable filter media
Faltbed dewatering systems use permanent, continuous belt media to strain solids. Flatbed filter systems can operate with low-cost, disposable media or permanent, continuous belt media.
For fine filtration, up to 10 micron levels, media can be pre-coated with a filter aid such as cellulose or diatomaceous earth.

Dirty liquid or slurry is pumped into the upper chamber. Solids accumulate on the filter media. Clean liquid collects in lower chamber.

A positive index feature and the flow of compressed air through the accumulated filter cake forces out remaining liquids.

The upper chamber raises, solids are discharged, media is introduced after cleaning, the chamber lowers, and the cycle repeats.
